Recently I had lunch with an African-American friend who isa church and ministry leader in the central area of downtown Seattle, WA. Thisdear brother has labored over twenty years, mainly with the youth and in churchplanting, in a very rough area of the city.
Even though he and his ministry is very evangelical(gospel-centered), the state (and city) has recognized his effective ministryand has given him, along with three foundations, 18 million dollars for a60-apartment and commercial building.
Praise God for this wonderful provision for this effectiveministry of the gospel, discipleship, compassionate, development and outreachto this needy community. This ministry will be a positive influence for thegospel and His glory among 60 to 80 families a year.
ACTION’s Shalom Christian Birthing Home (three-storybuilding/clinic estimated at $550,000) is nearing completion and we trust willbe ready for the dedication on Sunday, November 25, in Antipolo which is westof Manila, Philippines.
The Birthing Home is ministering to at least 1500 familiesyearly! Please pray for the remaining $57,000 needed.
Let me encourage you with the following, "And ifyou give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, thenyour light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday.  And the Lord will continually guide you andsatisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; andyou will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters donot fail" (Isaiah 58:10- 11, nasb).
